Mark Bjorklund
Battalion Chief
Mark Bjorklund graduated from the University of Portland with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications Management in 1990 and started pursuing his dream career in the fire service by volunteering and obtaining his paramedic certification.
He started with Marion County Fire District in 1993 as a volunteer firefighter at Station 2, attaining the rank of Volunteer Lieutenant. He was hired as a medical transport driver in 1997 before becoming the Program Director for the Non-emergency Transport Division. He was promoted as a line Firefighter in 2000 and has worked his way through the ranks to his current position as a Battalion Chief and the district’s EMS Chief.
During his off time, he loves spending time with his wife Erin and kids Zach, Lucas, Emma, and his Grandson Wyatt. Hobbies include hunting, fishing, teaching soccer, and helping future firefighters obtain their career goals.
